Aleksandra Sobol and Wela are two Polish artists living in France. One is an illustrator and architect, the other painter-sculptor. Both are inspired by trees and nature.
The drawings Aleksandra Sobol tell stories of trees that live and feel, stories of love, tenderness, mood … Soothing stories, a bit surreal, sometimes melancholy but never sad.
Wela (Elisabeth Wierzbicka) explores the similarities between humans and other organisms through light installations and abstract paintings combining vegetable and animal. Her ambiguous works invite reflection on our relationship to the environment.
