WELA (Elisabeth Wierzbicka) – Franco/Polish multidisciplinary artist, lives and works since 1989 in France, sculptor, painter, author of numerous spatial installations.
She recently set up her workshop-gallery in Gasny in Eure where she shows international exhibitions. Accustomed to creating monumental Land Art installations, this time at the Maison du Temps Jadis, she will show her most intimate works: paintings and drawings inspired by Nature.
A micro-macro cosmos generated by the overflowing imagination of the artist proves his inspiration from natural science, from nature.
Wela’s paintings are not figurative, but abstract or semi-abstract. Wela uses sensual lines, plant forms, spaces from a very specific universe of the artist.
The observation of various natural scenes, books on science and nature, dreams, lived experience nourishes the inspiration necessary for the creation of artistic works.
